Marie Sester is a media artist, trained as an architect in the Ecole d’Architecture de Strasbourg (DPLG, 1980). Her work combines paradigms of western artifice and sensation with common cultural artifacts. She uses these to reflect upon on democracy and its ramifications: political transparency and invisibility, power and visibility, access and exclusion, and widespread connectivity and detection. Her installations move to create an immersive experience, combining architecture with surveillance technologies, theater lighting, audio and video projection. They have received several awards and have been exhibited internationally.
