Bio:

Yasuko Yokoshi was born in Hiroshima, Japan where she studied ballet and martial arts as a child. She has created four full-length performance works since 1996, including I hear crows crying, Travel Theory, and Royal Madness. These works have been presented in New York at The Kitchen, Dance Theater Workshop, PS 122, P.S. 1 Contemporary Art Center, and internationally in Holland, Korea, Japan, and Austria. Yokoshi has been awarded funding from the Jerome Foundation, the America-Netherland Foundation, and Arts International. She was a 1996-1997 Artist-in-Residence at Movement Research and a 1998-2000 Artist-in-Residence at The Brooklyn Arts Exchange.
